2008 - Sikumiut personnel, Dave Scruton and Rick Goosney work with a Swedish University and industry to assess issues related to salmon migration and hydro developments.  They are part of a team providing scientific and technical advice to develop mitigation measures to address migration issues

2007 - Sikumiut expands technical services through the acquisition of personnel experienced in GIS and Remote Sensing.  These skills are offered by Grant Vivian and Stephen Roberts who have extensive knowledge of leading edge platforms and technology to support and assist our various project teams

2007 - Sikumiut celebrates 5 successful years of operation.  From a staff of five, focused on providing environmental support to the Voisey's Bay Project, Sikumiut has grown to a full time staff of 15, with another 15 contract and seasonal employees.  We now offer a full range of environmental consulting services to a broad client base in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond

2006-07 - Sikumiut retains senior personnel, including Ken Dominie (Oct. 2006), former ADM of Environment for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Dave Scruton (Nov. 2007), former head of science for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans St. John's office.  Dave and Ken will work with junior and intermediate personnel to develop and augment technical skills

2006 - Sikumiut operations expand to better meet the needs of clients based in Labrador and to seek opportunities beyond

2006 - Sikumiut hires Charlotte Wolfrey, an Inuk from Rigolet.  Charlotte brings strong local capability to address socio-economic issues in Inuit communities.  Charlotte brings experience and capability in conducting community consultations to assist industry and governments with their consultation and monitoring requirements

2006 - Sikumiut hires Biologist, Andrea Hoyt based out of our Nain office. Andrea has a depth of experience in research, resource management, impact assessments and communications

2005 - Sikumiut appoints a new Director to the Board.  Leroy Metcalfe, originally of Nain, NL became an equal partner in Sikumiut, joining Ron Webb and Gus Dicker of Nain and Bevin LeDrew of St. John's

2004 - Sikumiut hires Leroy Metcalfe, former Land & Resources Management Officer for the Labrador Inuit Association. Leroy brings over a decade of experience as a field biologist on various fish and bird surveys, project management and GIS development. Leroy was also involved in several natural resource management issues associated with the Voisey's Bay development, the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement negotiations and Torngat Mountains National Park Reserve Inuit IBA.

2003 - Sikumiut opens Happy Valley-Goose Bay Office

2002 - Sikumiut formed as an Inuit Business; incorporated in Newfoundland and Labrador.  The three equal partners, Ron Webb, Gus Dicker and Bevin LeDrew form Sikumiut to provide environmental services to the Voisey's Bay Nickel Project.
